The pretty spectacular islands welcome you by both air and sea. You can fly from Kolkata or Chennai with economy fares $270. A journey by ship takes 48 hours from Chennai or 56 hours from Kolkata.
Necessary formalities
You can visit near Indian embassies to get the permission. The task would be much easier to get the permission at the time of obtaining visa. Though at airport you can also obtain permit.
Unlike other tourist destination Andaman is little bit uncomfortable for some tourist. You cannot stay there more than 30 days. In addition tourists are not allowed to visit any of the Nicobar group of islands. Foreigners wishing to travel to the Andaman Islands by sea will need to get a 30-day permit in advance from the Ministry Of Home Affairs in New Delhi or from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office located in Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkatta (and at the immigration department at Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai airports.
A bunch of islands must make you feel like heaven. Tourist s can stay at night in South Andaman, certain places in Little Andaman, Middle Andaman, Neil Island, Havelock, and only in Diglipur on North Andaman. Some places like Viper, Ross, Interview, Jolly Buoy, Red Skin, Cinque, Narcondum and Brother and Sisters do not allow tourist stay at night. Only day trips are allowed here. There are no inhabitants here. A calm and quiet with pristine white beaches, diving, and taking the taste of a unique culture, rituals and geography of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands keep you stay there for long. It’s a beauty beyond description indeed.
